Damage to Angle Pin/Slider Core-Pull Mechanisms:
Problems with such mechanisms often arise from insufficient machining precision or undersized materials. Two main issues are typically observed:
Excessive angle A of the angle pin:
While a larger angle A allows for a greater core-pull distance within a shorter mold opening stroke, an overly large angle A increases the bending force on the pin during the core-pull process.
When the pulling force F is constant, the bending force P = F / cos A also increases, which can lead to pin deformation and wear on the angled hole.
Increased upward thrust on the slider:
The upward thrust N = F × tan A exerted by the angle pin on the slider also increases. This force raises the normal pressure of the slider against the guiding surfaces of the groove, thereby increasing frictional resistance during sliding. This can cause poor sliding performance and wear on the guiding groove.
Based on experience, angle A should not exceed 25°.
